So I figure I owe some people a good blog, and I figure a lot has happened since I really blogged about myself, and now I'm killing time until I go get food and head off to the airport. For any of you who manage to read this before I get home (I expect -most- people won't read it until after we leave to go back to school), my flight gets in at 6:45, I'm waiting for my sister's flight at 7:28, I should -hopefully- be home around 9:00. And yes, I'll be up to go out, no matter what. Somebody please leave a message on my cell about what's going on (too-oh-too too-won-thrie thrie-won-oh-ate)

Anyhow, as for actual bloggage: so as most of you know, I spent this semester pledging Beta Theta Pi. As most of you also probably know, I'm done. As my last blog implied, I'm a full brother now. And damn is it a good feeling. I'm a little dissapointed in one thing, and only one thing: since we don't know when initiation is until it sneaks up on us, we don't have time to get letters. Our bigs are supposed to buy them for us, but (along with two others) my big's a slacker and hasn't yet. Little upset about that, would have liked to wear letters home. Anyone wanna go hit the MIT Beta house this weekend?

Therein is the explaination of why I haven't blogged that much - I was in hell week, and so not only could I not get to an online computer much, but I really -can't- blog about the most interesting stuff that was going on. All I can say is I learned my fraternity's deepest secrets, and spent a lot of time with my now brothers.

... so what does this mean to me? It means, among other things, that I just realize how much of the little fun of college I haven't had time for recently. Like, last night we just got bored at 11:30 at night, most of us with work to get done before today (besides packing), and just headed over to HOVA (another dorm) to chill with two of our new brothers. There we got into a silly fight with his neighbors over a cookie tin, drank his soda, and basically just had a random good time at an absurd hour. I wish I hadn't missed that for the first three months, but hey - at least I've got it now. As for my brotherhood? I've got that for life. When I go visit other colleges, when I wear my letters just out on the street, when I go apply for a job - I never know where I'll run into a Beta, but I always know that I'll be welcomed. Because we share a far reaching bond of brotherhood, based on a basic faith in mankind.

For those of you who really know me..... that probably surprises the shit out of you. If it does, I'll talk to you in person about it, because it's a good conversation but not a good story in writing.

And so now I'm going home. Some telltale things about my trip? First, I'm taking the Gamecube. C'mon. I've gotta play wrestling with Sasha, Bond with Jack, and Smash with Alex. The only one who I still think is going to beat me is Jack at Bond, partially because he's freakishly good and partially cause I haven't played at all here (nobody in my room really likes it besides me). But Smash.... oh, I don't know. I really, really think I've played enough that I can take Alex. I may not win the first match, and I go on record saying that right now, but that's because you don't beat ANYONE 100% unless there's a huge disparity. There used to be - I'm saying there isn't now. And wrestling, Sasha and I have always been basically equally good at because it's such a shit simple game.

Also telling - taking home a lot of laundry, but I'll probably end up doing it myself. Mom's gonna be cooking me thanksgiving dinner, I think the only thing I'll ask her to do is deal with the stains I can't manage to. And I'm not taking it home because I'm lazy, I'm taking it home because I haven't had time during Hell Week to do it, and now I see no reason in paying a buck a load, wash and dry, to clean them. That and I'm out of detergent.

I'd like to go into the city, at least into Cambridge. Hell, especially into Cambridge. Harvard was nice to see last time, but I really, really want to see the MIT Beta houses. One track mind much? C'mon, you'd be excited too.

Ok - going out to lunch with my roomate now before I leave. Maybe I'll blog more when I get home.
