About baseball, I'm not a big fan of how they decide earned runs. The situation:
Yes, Fossum put runners on 1st and 2nd w/ no outs himself. But then a guy reaches on a ground ball error, loading the bases, when it should be 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. Fossum strikes out the next batter, so it becomes bases loaded 1 out instead of 2-3 and 2 outs. Next batter sac flies, but the sac fly isn't an availible run in the event that the error wasn't commited and therefore the run shouldn't be earned.
But since the batter reached off of Fossum, it is.
Wait - in the moments since I started this, the run has been ruled unearned. Good, at least the now two runs scored won't be charged to Fossum. He earned his way out of his jam.
