So I just looked at my hit stats for the first time in almost a month. And found that on the 17th, my hits surged from a general average of about 18 a day, to 87.
Yes, there were two very heavy blogs flanking that period. But mere chance and curiousity can't explain that alone, explain it as just people coming back to see if I'd write more.
That kind of a spike can only be explained by one thing - people were actually telling other people to go read what I had written that day, who wouldn't usually read my blog. If I'd realized just how much of a chord I'd struck.... I might have written more then, instead of cowering and letting it drift away. If you were one of those people, let me know, and maybe I'll write more for you.
p.s. digging through Peter Hill's archives, looking for somebody who might have linked to me on that day (which I'll note I didn't find), I noticed a "competition" between him and Joanna. Not that I'm at all competitive (hah!), but.....
3,631 total hits tracked. Less than 4% from any one particular source, although I will admit that my top referrer (3.72% of all hits, 135 hits) is in fact Peter Hill.
On a serious note though, congradulations that you guys have readers, have fans, have friends you probably wouldn't have had otherwise. I know it's really changed MY outlook on a lot of things, and I'm glad other people get to share in this incredibly weird and new experience.
