Look, here comes a real blog - if a potentially short one, because my answer will be terse and to the point.

A while back I made a blog talking about what I believe to be the biggest problem in what I will only refer to as the "gay movement" because there's no other decent term to use, even though I think that one blows. I got these comments (summarized) from a person who will go unnamed.

If there was a virtual way to smack you i would. There are two different levels to the "we're all the same argument." The one you don't get is that because I'm not straight I'm NOT the same, and left out of lots of American culture, and lots of people are scared of me and ridicule me. I'M FUCKING QUEER and I thnk I should shove it in as many people's faces as possible because I want you to recognize how different I am and accept me anyway. I realize that your opinions may never change, but I think they NEED to. If you say that you'll accept gay people who quietly act like straight people, you're not actually accepting gay people. You and everyone else like you who claims to be progressive while not wanting an inch of progress needs to change your mind.

Ok, first off, if you ever read this, FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU and what you think I NEED to do, if you knew a fucking thing about this me, my writings, and what I've said you'd know damn fucking well that nobody tells me what I NEED to think. And second, FUCK YOU, for twisting my words, for twisting my actions to fit your contorted views.

YOU'RE A RADICAL. And I don't say that because you're not straight, I say that because you insist on shoving it in people's faces. Lemme summarize in one word what I think of ANYONE who insists on shoving their own opinion in people's faces: BITCH. Jerry Falwell, BITCH, the whole KKK, BITCH, flip side of the coin, STILL BITCHES.

Let me have my fucking space is what I'm telling you. WHY THE FUCK do you think so many Americans are still scared of gays, when it's now public knowledge that there's no medical danger, when there's no sociological danger. Because a whole lot of the gay movement is FUCKING ANNOYING. For one fucking thing, I NEVER SAID I WANTED GAYS TO ACT STRAIGHT. What the fuck do you MEAN by acting straight anyhow, I thought my whole fucking point was that there ARE no major differences other than the sexual orientation. My gay roomate doesn't "act gay" if by acting gay you mean fitting the stereotype. My gay neighbor does. They're both very good friends of mine, and I couldn't care less how "flaming" Andrew (the neighbor) is. I DO care when people start pulling shit like tell me what I need to think, THAT'S WHEN IT GETS FUCKING INSULTING.

That's when the whole thing needs to shut the fuck up. That's when you stopped listening to me, and started contorting my words: I never asked gays to act straight, because I don't think there's a fucking act to make. Shit, two of my fraternity brothers "acts gay" if you want to even fucking call it that, but they're both straight. I've got no problem with THEM either. When I say I want people to stop pointing out that they're gay I mean STOP FUCKING LOOKING FOR SYMPATHY IF YOU WANT PEOPLE TO TREAT YOU NORMALLY.

Example: Two homeless people.

One goes out and does job interviews, but spends his evenings on the streets. Finally gets a job moving stuff behind a factory, only makes a few dollars a day, barely survives.

The other panhandles, waves a cup at people and harasses them, tells them "I'm homeless, help me." Lots of people do, because there are lots of good people out there. But to most people, he's a bum.

The first man isn't seen as an annoyance, as a problem. He's just a man who has a different life than some others. The second is seen as a nuissance, because he's looking for sympathy, looking for some kind of overt recognition when in reality he's just the same. I don't care how the fuck you live your lifestyle, but STOP shoving it in my face looking for me to accept something that I ALREADY DO. Think about how much it annoys me - do you think you're doing ANY better with the vast majority? Doing ANY better with the people who honestly belive that being gay is morally wrong, is sinful? Do you think you're doing ANY better with the people who believe it's evil? They see the radicals as a cult.

LISTEN TO WHAT I'M SAYING instead of telling me I need to change my views, because you still don't fucking get it.

I'm gonna get a lot of shit from this blog, I know. I can tell who it's going to come from, specifically. Don't even fucking start with me unless you're 100% sure you understand what I'm saying. All you're going to do is make yourself look stupid if you twist my words.
