Intersting minor point: I noticed that in the three of our blogs, Drew, Chris and I all link to each other. This is the only trio of three people I've seen who actually ALL link to each other among the blogs. The connection is obvious with anybody to two bits of sense, but since we're such different people with such different friends, we have very different readers - all of whom are likely, to at some point in time, read the other two's blogs. I bring this up because Lisa mentioned that she had read the blogs Chris linked to, and it was one of those moments where I sort of indirectly found I had somebody new who had at least looked my blog over - again, somebody I would never have expected. I've read hers over too though.

These chains of blog linking really are the best ways to keep in touch, to network with students from home. With the exception of a couple of very close friends who I still talk to on the phone every so often, I honestly feel most in touch and with those who I blog with. As I read their thoughts and they read mine, suddenly the old trite yearbook quip of "stay in to touch" is now infinitely possible - because before, it required phone calls, or letters, or even recently at the very least emails and IMs directed specifically to any given person you were trying to keep in touch with. Now you can blog to a whole audience, and any body who wants to stay in touch with you can.

I think Drew, Chris and I are probably the most likely to be most read because we're all collectively linked. You can get to Drew from Chris, or from going from Chris to me and then to Drew, or just realizing that more people link him, people may be more likely to go read. I link to a few blogs, some of whom link many that I don't read. I chains run around the town, and into our college towns. I'd like to see Lisa link more people, or Liz, because I'd really like to read what people two or three links on the chain away from me have to say.

Again, that's the power of blogging.
