You know... some things just blow my mind. What the FUCK Apple Corporate is doing is one of them.

For those of you who don't know, Apple introduces most major new hardware/software at Macworld Expos, primarily during Steve Jobs' keynote speech. It's a fun way to introduce and debut new products. This year's Macworld expo was considered fairly successfull and fairly eventfull - they debuted support for 802.11g (wireless networking like most of you know it, which if you didn't know Apple brought to the mainstream, but now 5 times faster) in their brand spanking new laptops - a bigger one and a smaller one than ever before, however people wanted them, with superdrives, and bluetooth, and firewire 800 - you probably have no idea what this all means, but it means SPIFFY new hardware. What people came to see.

Only two weeks later..... they debuted new Power Macs. Which HAD to have been ready for the big time at expo, and yet for some reason they held off. They offered a sizable speed boost and all the new features of the laptops - bluetooth, firewire 800, airport extreme. They kicked some fucking ass.

That was two weeks ago.

Yesterday, they debuted new iMacs. Same comparable speed boost (25% this time, even a bit more) and all the new power features.

What. The fuck. Point. Was holding off on them?

There must be some strategy here that I don't understand. Clearly they're upgrading the whole line so the line can stay interesting while they do a major overhaul - I assume, going to a new processor. Apple has never once in 19 years upgraded all 3 lines like this at once.... it's boggling.
