Neccessity is far less the mother of invention than it is the mother of ability.
It's 6:15 AM as I start this, and I'm roughly 2/3 of the way through an all nighter to finish a SHITLOAD of work I have for today. Some of it I badly procrastinated... some of it was assigned yesterday... some of it I attempted to get done earlier and failed. Either way, here I am pulling a pretty high load all nighter, but really nothing I'm not usually capable of.
Except usually I do it with food, water, soda, and juice. Niceties to keep the body going. But there's a pledge sleeping in front of refridgerator - yeah, it's a long fucking story and I'm not quite sure how it happened either. But there is, and I'm not gonna wake him up just so I can get to a twelve pack of Coke. So I've spent the last five hours caffeine free, food free, running only on water. And I've finished the bigger of my two papers (the second isn't even worth calling a paper - it's a book report, 3-5 pages, on a book I actually enjoyed about the corruption of the justice system and its integration into organized crime in 1960's Seattle, which serves as a model for all most other areas at the time). My work is completely under control, especially once I throw Eric and the other pledges out (they have to leave a quarter of 8, not by my decision).
Oh shit. I just remembered I have to be at least 90% concious until like 1 AM due to a commitment I forgot about. This is going to be a fucking FUN day. There are three good things in my favor though that will make it actually fun:
1) After today, I have no single day when two other major things are due, except for my sociology extra credit paper (3-4 pages on Jackie Robinson, another cool subject) which coincides with my last test - a non cumulative exam on the second half of the semester. My last Criminal Justice test is the day after that as is my italian oral, but both should be easy. My italian final is on the 5th, and my CS final project is due as late as the 10th. I'll be home some time around then. This was the hardest night, and I'm about 2/3 through it.
2) The weather is supposed to be nice.
3) If I've made it this far and this well without food and caffeine, the extra boost is gonna be like Liquid Schwartz.
Time to pop the gas tank.
