:: Sunday, April 20, 2003 :: You know, I never really figured something out - for a starting pitcher to get the win in a baseball game he has to pitch a minimum of 4 2/3 innings (more than half the game). But in relief, whoever just pitched when the team goes ahead goes in line for the win, even if he only pitches one out. So concievably, if you started the game with a guy from the bullpen to pitch the first inning, your "starter" could then get the win if he was in for the lead regardless of how long he went. Very odd.
